YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The What: Structural integrity is not an afterthought – it is built into every design decision from the start. We need an engineer who owns the structural design execution across development projects, continuously improves how we design, and identifies technical risks before they become problems.

The Why: You are the owner of structural design within your projects. You don’t wait for problems to surface – you anticipate them. From concept through qualification, you drive designs forward, improve the methods behind them, and take responsibility for what leaves your desk.

You ensure:

• Development projects reach qualification milestones with design methods that get better along the way.
• Technical risks, design weaknesses, and process gaps are caught and resolved early.
• Your commitments are delivered on time, without needing to be chased.

YOUR MISSION

Lead development projects from concept to qualification: Own the structural design execution across your projects – hitting milestones, improving design methods as you go, and leaving processes better than you found them. At least one implemented improvement to design methods, processes, or standards per project is the bar.

YOUR PROFILE

• Engineering degree in mechanical, aerospace, materials, or a related structural field (BSc minimum; MSc or PhD preferred).
• At least 2 years of professional experience in structural design and/or structural analysis of composite structures.
• Solid understanding of composite manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles, with the ability to bridge design intent with production reality.
• Hands-on experience with structural analysis, modelling, and interpretation of results – Hyperworks proficiency is a strong plus.
• Solid understanding of design-for-manufacturing and the ability to bridge design intent with production reality.
• Proven problem-solving and design optimisation skills, including working with incomplete information.
• Confident communicator across functions – able to challenge and align in equal measure.
• Previous responsibility for a design that went into production.
• English fluency for day-to-day and technical discussions

Nice to have:

• CAD design proficiency.
• Experience with failure analysis or structural optimisation.
• Background in aerospace, space, motorsport, hydrogen storage, or another high-performance engineering environment.
• German language skills.
